Jon Kabat-Zinn is the founder of
the nationally acclaimed Stress Reduction
Clinic at the University of Massachusetts
Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
His life work has been largely dedicated
to bringing mindfulness into the mainstream
of medicine and society. Since 1979, the
clinic has served more than 17,000 patients
in the form of an eight-week long course.

Jon's books and guided meditation programs
describe meditation practice in such
commonsensical, relevant, and compelling
terms that mindfulness meditation practice
has become a way of life for thousands of
people.
The programs are an extremely effective
way to develop and deepen a personal
meditation practice without the ideological
and cultural trappings that so often make
it difficult for Westerners to drop into
what is deepest and most beautiful, most
liberating and most healing about meditation.
Their use provides a very real opportunity
to taste those universal aspects of stillness
and well-being, clarity, wisdom, compassion,
and self-compassion, that Buddhists often
refer to as dharma.
