As we fast approach 2012 there
is increasing interest in the prophecy of the
Mayan. Within the Mayan mythology, and other
ancient traditions, it is widely accepted that
this date will see us at the end of a world
age, the end of a 5,125 cycle. Exactly what
that means is the subject to many theories so
it is with great curiosity that I start listening
to Gregg Bradens latest audio book - Fractal
Time.
Braden starts with an overview
of the ancient traditions that all point to
the same time/space conjunction - the 21st December
2012. His deep knowledge of the ancient traditions
adds much richness to his dialogue and I found
myself building a picture in my mind of the
cycles he is describing. The vastness of time
is a concept I struggled with in the sense of
how small a human life span is when compared
to 5,125 years.
As he introduces the universal
patterns that underpin our world he moves into
the mathematical calculations and principals
used within the repeating patterns of nature
- fractals and the golden ratio. I needed a
pen and paper through this section, although
you can skip understanding the maths in totality
and go to the calculator
on his website!
Once the maths are in place he
demonstrates how the great cycles have been
playing out in our life time and the examples
are fascinating - from the September 11 disaster
to the melt down of the global financial system
he can demonstrate the pattern. For me a key
fact to remember was that although the conditions
of a cycle repeat the outcomes can be altered
by choice.
So what is the prediction
for 2012... Braden expresses his view clearly
The way we feel about our experiences
has a direct effect upon what we actually experience.
With those words he then explores the choice
points we have ahead of us.
