I was eagerly anticipating the
arrival of this book as Caroline Myss had written
about it on her facebook page and I had enjoyed
many of Andrew's earlier titles.
So I was frustrated when I found
myself struggling to read a page without my
mind drifting all over the place. The book seemed
to start without context in the sense that he
goes straight to the ten things you could do
to activate sacred activism in your life. That
was a bit soon for me! I discovered I need more
context and framing to get me engaged.
The stories that Andrew uses to
describe sacred activism are engaging and I
enjoyed arriving at those sections. I became
totally engaged and I could feel the sense of
grace and gratitude coming alive within me.
Interestingly I did not engage as well with
his life stories; there was a tone that didn't
sit well with me.
Part III is where he outlines
the seven laws of sacred activism and they are
each a mix of the ancient teachings from all
the major mystical and spiritual traditions.
This is certainly an area where Andrew's scholarly
talents come to the fore. His deep understanding
in the teachings does come through the pages.
I would be keen to hear how you find it
